About The Role
Are you a Podiatrist looking for a new or additional role with career development opportunities? Have you ever thought about working within a prison environment, helping to rehabilitate and support offenders to live purposeful lives as a member of the community?
Prisons are one of the most challenging yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you are looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be!
To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Garth & HMP Wymott, we are looking for a Podiatrist to join our team, working 24 hours a month. There is no on-call or weekend work to allow for a strong work-life balance!
You will be part of a forward-thinking, innovative healthcare team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and mental health professionals, delivering high-quality, best practice treatment. You will also form part of the wider MSK Health in Justice Team comprising physiotherapists and podiatrists working in 52 prisons across the country. You will be closely supported and mentored by our Team Lead Podiatrist, and with our well-developed appraisal system, in-service training, and funding for external clinical courses, you will be provided with an excellent supportive learning environment.
What you'll be doing
This role requires the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the offender healthcare setting who may have complex and/or chronic presentations. You will need to determine clinical diagnosis and clinical treatment, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
With this in mind, you will be HCPC registered with post-registration experience assessing and treating a range of conditions including diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies, and nail surgery. You will also be self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.
What we’ll look for in you
When you are part of the Practice Plus Group team, you don’t just have a job. You have a career. We work with you to help you grow in your role and take your career in the direction you want to go. We will help you be the best you can be.
We want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded. So, we offer a competitive package of pay and benefits. We also recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance, so we always try to be flexible, helping you fit your working life around your home life.
If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted by the Internal Recruiter for this role. The recruiter will submit your CV to the hiring manager and arrange an interview for you to attend if the hiring manager feels that you are suitable for the job.
Or alternatively, if you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Sarah on email sarah.melder@practiceplusgroup.com.
Please note that offers of employment are subject to Practice Plus Group Terms & Conditions and receipt of satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check, and prison vetting. At Practice Plus Group, we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities.
