Job Title: Health and Safety Manager

Initial 6 month contract

We are currently seeking a proactive, practical, and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our clients team in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on role where you will be expected to actively engage with staff, identify risks, and practically implement Health & Safety policies across our manufacturing and office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Risk Assessments & Policy Implementation: Assess health and safety risks in both office and manufacturing environments, ensuring safety procedures are implemented effectively and practically.
* Hands-on Safety Management: Be present on the factory floor, ensuring health and safety standards are maintained across all departments, including equipment and operational processes.
* Collaborative Approach: Work closely with site managers, engineering teams, and the compliance manager to ensure safety measures align with the company's policies and the latest legal regulations.
* Communication: Provide clear, concise reports on health and safety activities, issues, and improvements to management board while actively engaging with staff at all levels to communicate safety standards and updates.
* Enforcing Standards: Apply the appropriate rigor to ensure safety policies are followed but do so with a practical approach that maintains a productive and positive work environment.
About You:
* Experience: You’ll have a solid background in health and safety, with experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical settings. You’ll be comfortable in a hands-on role, actively engaging with the team to ensure safety procedures are followed.
* Qualifications: You must have a recognized qualification in health and safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) and a good understanding of current laws, regulations, and changes in the health and safety landscape, such as the Peninsula catalogue.
* Practical & Collegiate: You are a practical, solutions-oriented individual who can implement safety procedures in a way that’s both effective and realistic. You also value collaboration and can communicate with people from all departments and levels of the organization.
* Risk Management: You have the ability to identify, assess, and manage risks in various environments, ensuring that the safety of employees is prioritized while keeping the operational flow intact.
* Hands-on & Engaged: You’re not someone who sits behind a desk. You’ll be out in the factory, assessing, reporting, and ensuring the safety policies are working in practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Strong understanding of health and safety in manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry.
* Experience in risk assessment and safety management in both office and factory environments.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels, from floor staff to senior management.
* A proactive, practical approach to health and safety, with a focus on both compliance and operational productivity.
