We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well-integrated team. We will consider both full-time and less than full-time applicants.

There will also be opportunity to join our Connective Tissue Disease and Vasculitis service, if desired. The successful applicant will be responsible for a mixed caseload including some follow-up patients from the cohorts of consultants who have retired, as well as new patients. The role will include involvement in our regular multidisciplinary team meetings, supporting our specialised commissioned services and regional advice provision.
We have a busy dedicated musculoskeletal outpatient department (including X-ray facilities), a day case unit, and inpatient beds.
Main Duties of the Job
We supervise the care of large cohorts of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, axial spondylarthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, systemic sclerosis, SLE, primary Sjogren's syndrome, vasculitis, and myositis with dedicated specialist clinics and databases. There are well-established links with many specialties in the Trust, and we hold regular combined clinics with dermatology, neurology, gastroenterology, the interstitial lung disease chest physicians, the pulmonary hypertension physicians, and the medical obstetricians. We have an adolescent/young adult clinic, with attention on developmentally appropriate healthcare for both new referrals and overlapping care of those transitioning from the paediatric service. Our metabolic bone service works closely across a wide clinical remit and range of clinical services including genetics, paediatrics, and endocrinology. It is supported by a full MDT including 2 very experienced specialist nurses, a fracture liaison nurse, specialist physiotherapy, and a medical physicist responsible for Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scanning and reporting. We deliver a fracture liaison service and support the DXA scanning service in primary and secondary care.
