Duties and Responsibilities: The following are the core responsibilities of a Receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels. Answer all telephone calls, signposting and transferring calls where appropriate Answer all appointment queries Giving out results when required Complete ambulance transport bookings Deal with general enquiries, compliments, and complaints Contacting other providers, responding to urgent/ 999 calls Register new patients and temporary residents Complete the deduction process for required patients Greet and direct patients and visitors, ensuring all visitors are checked in Maintain and monitor the Practice daily appointment ledger Action all incoming post and emails Complete all assigned tasks Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to the next shift Respond to the needs of healthcare staff during clinics Collect payments from payments for non-NHS services
