Description Are you interested in leading the Strategy and Business Planning function at the Scottish Public Pensions Agency? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen. The agency administers pensions for Scottish Teachers, Police, Firefighters’ and National Health Service employees on behalf of the Scottish Government. As Strategy and Business Planning Manager, you will lead business planning through management and facilitation of senior stakeholders, ensuring identification and agreement of priorities. You will lead the development of strategic plans, producing key business planning documents and horizon scanning for future impacts. Responsibilities Manage the agency’s preparation and production of its Agency Annual Report & Accounts and Scheme Annual Report & Accounts. Work with colleagues across the agency to ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with Scottish Government standards. Lead coordination and engagement with the agency’s appointed auditors to ensure expected reporting standards are achieved within the agency. Manage the development and production of the agency’s 5-year rolling strategic plan and supporting Annual Business Plan. Manage business planning activities and prioritisation with the Executive Team in support of the agency strategic plan and Annual Business Plan, also ensuring the plans align with any wider Scottish Government priorities. Lead collaboration across the agency, particularly with Finance, Operations and Communications teams to manage and update the strategic plan and Annual Business Plan in line with business priorities as the plan evolves. Ensure performance against the aforementioned strategic plan and annual business plan is monitored. Provide regular reports and presentations, both written and verbal, explaining for various senior stakeholders agency progress against plans and provide recommendations on effective business planning. Undertake horizon scanning to inform on future trends and items that may impact the Agency. Manage and facilitate engagement with the Executive Team to ensure future impacts are understood and appropriately considered and that the agency’s planning processes prioritise and adapt accordingly. Work with colleagues in the agency responsible for development and production of operational and financial management information (M.I.) to ensure appropriate production of reporting in support of annual report & accounts, strategic plans and annual business plans. Actively participate in and influence discussions within the wider Strategy, Governance and Communications division.
