PO3 - £43,131 to £46,016 per annum inc Market Factor payment
A new exciting opportunity has arisen within the Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism Team for a social worker to join us.
We work with adults from the age of 18 who are diagnosed with a Learning Disability and/or Autism across Telford and Wrekin. While we are an adult social care team, we also support all young people from the age of 14 who are preparing for adulthood and transitioning into adult services.
The ALD Team are passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling lives as valued members of their community. A key area of focus is enabling people to live independently and maximizing their independence, as well as supporting carers to maintain their role. The Team also supports young people to prepare for adulthood, and multi-agency working is vital in ensuring people have the right support that meets their individual needs and desired outcomes.
We offer a supportive and rewarding working environment, where professional curiosity is actively encouraged. We provide great training and development options to all roles, along with both remote and office-based working to support flexibility and promote a positive work-life balance.
Staff have shared some views on working in the team:
* “It’s a busy role but you feel like there is always someone who will help you if needed. It can also be rewarding and you meet some lovely people.”
* “Very supportive and approachable team and managers who always put individual outcomes above all else, and supporting somebody to meet their outcomes is one of the most rewarding things you can do.”
* “It is a small but supportive and approachable team, in a lovely location in Shropshire without compromising the convenience of multiple nearby cities.”
You will be expected to work in a person-centred way to enable adults who are Autistic and/or diagnosed with a Learning Disability to reach their full potential, maximize their social inclusion, and achieve positive outcomes.
Our Social Workers will work with the individual, their carers, and families to build a Support Plan, with a broad range of interventions that will provide a provision that is holistic, evidence-based, and delivered within communities.
If you share our passion for making a difference, we would be delighted to hear from you.
At Telford & Wrekin Council, we know that having a diverse workforce is key to providing the best possible services to our community. We celebrate having a diverse and inclusive culture where people are able to be themselves at work and everyone has a voice.
