Learning Support Assistant - SEMH School Location: Eastleigh Position: Full-Time (Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 4:00pm) Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience) About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dedicated team that caters to pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding full-time role where you will provide essential support to students in both academic and social settings. You will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create a positive, nurturing environment where students can thrive. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Assist in delivering tailored learning plans and activities. Foster a supportive, safe, and positive environment for students. Support the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and facilitating learning. Help with the personal care and development of students where required. Act as a role model to promote positive behaviour and social interaction. Key Requirements: Proven experience working with children or young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly SEMH. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with pupils, parents, and staff. Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with complex needs. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be 21 or over, as the role involves supporting pupils aged 11-18. A passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people. Desirable: Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Experience in de-escalation strategies or behaviour management techniques.
