Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for an Academy Manager to support its leading Category One Academy operations at the Clayton Wood Training Ground in Trent Vale.
Reporting to the Academy Technical Director, the Academy Manager will be responsible for shaping the continued success and future direction of the Academy department, managing the overall Academy structure. You will deliver all of the Academy aims, objectives and KPIs, providing line management of all heads of department as well as developing and maintaining Stoke City Football Club as a leading Category One Academy.
Main Responsibilities:
* Working with the Academy Technical Director to establish objectives for the governance of the Academy and provision of quality players to the first team.
* Identifying priorities, performance standards and critical activities, liaising with key stakeholders to ensure objectives are met.
* Developing players for the Stoke City Football Club first team by liaising with the Academy coaching team and Head of Academy Recruitment.
* Delivering all aspects of EPPP requirements.
* Managing key roles of the Academy including sports science and medical, education, welfare and child Protection, administration, recruitment and development centres.
* Developing and implementing the Academy Performance Plan, in accordance with the current Youth Development rules.
* Overseeing and managing the Academy players Individual Development Plan (IDP) to ensure a continuous pathway into the first team.
* Ensuring conformity of coaching throughout age ranges 5-16.
* Agreeing annual budgets and monitoring expenditure.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
* Strong planning and organising skills.
* Excellent leadership and management skills.
* Hard working with good communication and motivational skills.
* Previous experience of management within an elite sports environment.
* UEFA A Licence.
The position is offered on a full time permanent basis. A high degree of flexibility will be required in order to meet the needs of the role.
