Director of Operations
Location: Worcester | Office Based: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm | Salary: £52,000
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations to ensure the business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its people and procedures. You will be responsible for overseeing, analysing, and improving projects and processes to achieve targets daily, contributing to the long-term growth of the Company.
Are you the right person for the job?
1. Proven experience in an operational management role or equivalent position
2. Excellent organisational and leadership skills
3. Outstanding communication and people skills
4. In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, customer service etc.)
5. Familiarity with MS Office and various business software (e.g., Sage)
What will your role look like?
1. Performing financial predictions by preparing the annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variance and initiating corrective actions
2. Reviewing projects and processes on a regular basis, finding areas for development and growth
3. Upholding company policies and values while leading by example at all times
4. Providing opportunities for staff training, development and advancement within the company
5. Ensuring that your Team remains compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements and taking action where necessary
6. Ensuring that your Team delivers all that is required of them on time and in the manner requested to help the full functionality of the business
7. Liaising with Senior Management to make decisions for operational activities
8. Planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of the business to ensure smooth progress
9. Managing staff from different departments and providing constructive feedback to create a cohesive team
10. Evaluating regularly the efficiency of the business procedures according to objectives and applying improvements
11. Overseeing procurement processes, material and resources allocation
12. Reviewing financial information and adjusting operational budgets to promote profitability
13. Managing relationships/agreements with external partners and vendors
14. Evaluating overall performance of people and processes by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics
