The Role
Our client is seeking a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) to join their busy and growing Dispute Resolution Team. The role involves managing a mixed caseload of commercial contract disputes, complex debt recovery, property litigation, contentious probate, and construction disputes. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist the Head of Department with more complex cases and provide supervision to trainees and paralegals.
About You
Essential Experience:
1. Managing a diverse caseload of commercial contract disputes, debt recovery, property litigation, and contentious probate matters.
2. Experience handling construction disputes.
3. Supervising and mentoring trainees and paralegals.
4. Delivering high-quality, practical advice to clients in both commercial and property sectors.
5. Strong client relationship management skills.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Experience:
1. Experience in dealing with complex or high-value litigation matters.
2. Strong academic background with a minimum 2:1 degree classification or equivalent.
3. Business development experience.
4. Familiarity with both Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes and court litigation.
Knowledge and Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
1. The ability to manage their own caseload effectively, handling matters from inception to completion.
2. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
3. Strong financial management and billing experience.
4. The ability to conduct legal research and assess legal issues.
5. Familiarity with case management systems.
6. A proactive approach to client service and communication.
7. The ability to stay updated on relevant legal developments.
8. Proven leadership qualities to supervise and guide junior staff.
