Main duties of the job The Salaried GP is integral to providing primary healthcare services and ensuring the well-being of the patients. This role involves delivering a full range of medical services, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases, to patients of all ages, managing both acute and chronic conditions. The position requires a collaborative approach to healthcare, working alongside the multi disciplinary team of healthcare professionals to facilitate effective treatment outcomes and high standards of patient care. We currently have seven GPs, (four partners, two salaried and one career start), supported by an ANP, Pharmacist, large nursing team, ARRS roles and admin support. Or 9,300 patient practice is long established and highly regarded. We highly value continuity of patient care and staff health and wellbeing Our Practice Pharmacist deals with the vast majority of medicines management workload and holds patient clinics twice weekly. We are a GP Registrar training practice and also have Medical and Pharmacy students. IT Support - EMISWeb clinical system, Accurx, GP Team Net, E-Consult and Lexacom Echo digital dictation We are continually improving our processes to improve efficiency for both clinical and admin teams and have developed a robust protocol for document workflow which has significantly reduced GP workload. The Recovery at Home team provide support in assessing and managing patients at home who are housebound or too unwell to attend the surgery Member of Sunderland GP Alliance federation who manage the Extended Access scheme so no out of hours commitment for individual practices A fully-funded ICB educational programme Weekly MDT meetings to discuss patients in care homes and housebound patients with complex needs.
