Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hotel Services Domestic Team Leader to work at Berrywood Hospital. This is a hands-on position, which involves all aspects of cleaning duties, planning staff levels and rotas, ordering supplies and ensuring compliance with trust policies and legislation. You will also represent the hotel services department at hospital departmental meetings and liaise with clinical and other staff to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the department.
The post is 37.5 hours a week with a 2 week rota.
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10.00-18.00, Thursday & Friday 07:30 - 15:30 (30 minute unpaid break)
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10.00-18.00, Saturday & Sunday 07:30 - 15:30 (30 minute unpaid break). These hours are subject to change and Weekend shifts are paid at the current NHS additional enhanced rate of pay.
Main duties of the job
As The Ideal Candidate You Will
* Ensure a high-quality service is provided throughout Trust sites.
* Responsible for training, supervision, & guidance of staff, including induction and training of new staff.
* A 'hands on' approach, working with others to ensure a safe and pleasant environment is provided.
* Complete annual appraisals for staff, deliver monthly team briefs and communicate Trust and Department news and updates.
* To ensure compliance with all relevant statutory legislation, using chemicals in a safe and economical manner.
* Liaise with infection control as required. complete regular quality control audits in your area.
* Provide cover for staff and other Team Leaders in their absence.
* To liaise with Ward Managers on matters relating to Hotel Services.
* Compilation of duty rotas, holiday entitlement and allocation of work within your team. Ensure that enough staff are on duty at any given time to maintain the service within budget and facilitate the smooth running of the department within area of responsibility. Perform return to work interviews with staff on return from sickness.
