The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT to lead the creation and implementation of an IT strategy that will future-proof the institution. This role will work in close collaboration with the Abbey’s Leadership Team to understand requirements and provide technology solutions that will enhance the Abbey's stability, security, its digital presence and its communication with its audience.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver a new IT strategy and infrastructure, ensuring IT platforms are robust, resilient, and compliant.
* Oversee all IT activities and projects, ensuring efficiency and integration.
* Manage a significant annual budget and advise on most effective IT Operating Model
* Identify and manage resources for core technology system projects.
* Support the Abbey in incorporating cloud services and enhancing cybersecurity measures.
* Manage the IT department, including staff recruitment, professional development, and appraisal.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant professional IT qualification or equivalent experience with a strong track record.
* Experience in delivering complex projects and managing IT in network operations, applications management, and web-based technology.
* Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Strong team management and development capabilities.
* Excellent people skills and ability to manage a unique and complex stakeholder base
Desirable
* Experience working in a similar organisation/setting.
* Accredited leadership qualification.
