Owens are looking to recruit an enthusiastic & conscientious HGV Fitter/ Technician to support our Cardiff operation.
Shifts: Monday to Friday
Times: 06.00am-16.00
Specific Key Accountabilities:
1. Diagnose and repair HGV vehicles and trailers dealing with mechanical breakdowns to restore vehicles to required performance and minimize or avoid unnecessary delays.
2. Provide technical knowledge, advice, and skill to other team members ensuring the best decisions are made.
3. Carry out 8-weekly inspections of vehicles.
4. Carry out preventative planned maintenance.
5. Carry out all other duties as directed by the Company.
Specific Qualifications/ Job Training:
1. Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle mechanics, maintenance, and repair or equivalent advantageous but not essential.
2. A clean driving licence is essential with a HGV category C+E entitlement being advantageous but not essential.
Specific Experience:
1. Knowledge of current legislation.
2. Working in a team environment with minimal supervision.
3. Maintenance of HGV vehicles / Trailers with a good understanding of MOT standards.
Specific Skills:
1. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns.
2. Trained in IOSH working safely.
3. Team player with a flexible 'Can Do' attitude.
