This Alternative Provision school specializes in supporting students who face challenges in mainstream education. They are dedicated to addressing the barriers to learning, providing not only academic instruction but also fostering emotional development. They have developed a curriculum that includes a strong focus on social and emotional regulation, resilience, and self-esteem, alongside traditional academic subjects.

This school caters to students who have a wide range of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) learning difficulties from ages 11 to 16 through their post-16 study programs from 8.30 am to 3 pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break).
Your Role:
* Provide personalized support for each student depending on their learning styles and special needs to achieve their educational milestones.
* Take responsibility for safeguarding by prioritizing children's physical, social, and emotional welfare through utilizing a variety of interpersonal techniques.
* Ensure students are provided with a safe environment to pursue their educational needs.
* Accurately record all incidents, accidents, and health and safety documentation.
* Work alongside and support teachers to ensure inclusivity and access, keep track of progress, and promote self-esteem.
* Develop a variety of methods to engage with individual students, under the direction of the teacher.
* You may be required to work closely with other professionals like speech and language therapists.
What We’re Looking For:
* Due to the nature of this role, applicants must have experience supporting children/adults with special needs.
* Comfortable prioritizing personal care while aiding students.
* Hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs.
* Able to understand and help students with various learning styles.
* Enjoy working with students.
* The ability to create the best conditions for students with additional needs.
* Flexible and open to adapting to each student’s needs.
* Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
* Ability to remain calm and composed during stressful situations and ensure students feel supported.
