We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading UK-wide Fire and Security Systems company. The role focuses on service calls, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), and reactive maintenance of fire alarm systems across the company’s business contracts.
Job Overview
* Position: Field Service Engineer (Fire Alarm Systems)
* Location: South West – covering areas near North Bristol/Gloucester/Chippenham OR areas near Andover, Winchester, Salisbury, and Southampton
* Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 per annum, plus call-out payments and overtime
* Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (approx. 1 in 4 weekend call-out rota)
* Type: Permanent (PAYE)
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake service calls and perform PPM and reactive maintenance on fire alarm systems.
* Respond to emergency call-outs and effectively diagnose faults.
* Complete all service documentation in line with BS5839 and company policies.
* Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous experience in fire alarm systems maintenance is essential.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
* Good organisational skills, including time management and prioritisation.
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the designated region.
* Applicants should reside within a reasonable driving distance of the coverage area.
