Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Banking and Payments Team Assistant to join their established accounts team in Inverness. This role involves processing weekly payments, managing queries, and supporting the monthly reconciliations of bank accounts. The successful candidate will have a strong financial acumen, experience in an accounting team, and excellent attention to detail.
Main duties of the job
The Banking and Payments Team Assistant will be responsible for processing weekly payments via BACS and cheque, ensuring payment requests are accurate, and managing queries from both suppliers and internal colleagues. They will also be involved in processing and managing Direct Debits, recording transactions, and assisting with monthly reconciliations of relevant bank accounts.

Job responsibilities
The role will include:
1. Processing weekly payments via BACS and cheque.
2. Ensuring payment requests are accurate.
3. Managing queries from both suppliers and internal colleagues.
4. Processing and managing Direct Debits and updating any changes.
5. Processing and recording transactions.
6. Assisting with the monthly reconciliations of relevant bank accounts.
7. Managing and reviewing queries and payments.
Minimum Requirements
NEED TO HAVE:
A strong financial acumen.
Experience working in an accounting team.
Experience dealing with queries via phone and email.
Good attention to detail.
Good organisation skills.
