The Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Service Director for Planning, Economy & Culture to join our proactive Leadership Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis. As the Service Director for Planning, Economy & Culture, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Planning Policy, Infrastructure Delivery & Projects, Strategic Development, Development Management, Economy & Culture, and Building Control Solutions teams to achieve the service's objectives. You will be a lead officer on the Creating Communities agenda working collaboratively and in partnership across the Council and with external stakeholders, to deliver a joined-up approach to place making including the delivery of key major new communities. Overseeing the progression of the Local Plan to adoption will be one of your key achievements in the role as will continuing to provide an excellent development management service. Overseeing actions set out in our Borough wide economic strategy and town centre strategy will also be a high priority as will be working with other Berkshire councils to support the Berkshire Prosperity Board and Berkshire wide Economic Strategy.
