Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Drilling Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensures that Company policy, accepted industry standards, safety procedures and government regulations are adhered to in all aspects.
2. For all well planning activities, ensuring that all governmental permits, consents, AFE's, drilling programs, well designs and equipment are available when required for execution of the operations.
3. Liaise with Subsurface team to develop Pre-Drill Data pack prior to operations.
4. Risk assessments are performed as required and appropriate resources are available
5. Coordinate drilling and completion budget, cost monitoring and invoice processing.
6. Ensuring drilling and completion design meets well objectives and is performed in accordance with established standards
7. Operations planning and work program/procedure generation including risk assessment and peer review, where required.
8. Provision of onsite operations support during Drilling operations.
9. Performance tracking (actual Vs planned) and making recommendations for improvement.
10. All reporting requirements as required by Company during planning, execution and close out phase. This may involve close communication with engineers and Contractors to achieve well objective.
11. Post operation close out including, reviewing performance against plan, capturing lessons learned and developing solutions to problems to improve performance.
12. Support Contracts & Procurement group on Drilling related contract tender preparation, bid evaluation and contract management.
13. Identification and implementation of technology to reduce cost and/or add value.
14. Perform Company and Contractor yard visits to ensure equipment are ready and fit for operations prior to mobilisation.
15. Assist the Drilling Superintendent in performance of his duties.
Requirements:
* Master / Degree in Engineering or its equivalent
* An experienced Engineer with good communication skills and management capability.
* Drilling and Completion engineering design, planning and operations experience with Operators in Central North Sea is preferable.
* Widely experienced in drilling operations in a variety of environments including development drilling and operations utilising Jack-up, HP riser, subsea completions, well clean up and Subsea XMT as well as Semi-submersible work.
* Exhibit flexibility and work effectively in a fast-paced environment including managing work pressures well, particularly when faced with unexpected occurrences, changes, and delays.
* Willingly accept responsibility and accountability with a positive attitude.
* Teamwork - work effectively with others outside the line of normal authority to accomplish goals
* Highly motivated and self-starter
* High degree of computer literacy with knowledge and ability to use Landmark software suites (Stresscheck, Wellplan, Compass, etc).
* Willing to be part of the Emergency Response team on weekly duty (as part of an office rotation) (included in day rate)
* Valid IWCF or Equivalent to Level 4 Drilling Supervisory (Surface & Subsea Stack).
* Valid MIST training
* Valid Sea survival and helicopter (BOSIT) training to UKCS standard.
* Valid UKCS Medical.
