We are seeking a passionate and experienced Functional Skills English and Maths Tutor to deliver a 6-week course designed for overseas students. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact, equipping learners with essential language and numeracy skills to help them thrive in the UK Job Description: Functional Skills English and Maths Tutor Location: Shrewsbury Contract: Part-time, 3.5 days per week (6-week contract) Start Date: Week commencing 27 January Salary: £182 per day Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and interactive Functional Skills English and Maths sessions tailored to the needs of overseas students. Plan and deliver lessons that align with course objectives, ensuring students achieve measurable progress. Employ a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and levels. Provide constructive feedback and support to help students overcome challenges and build confidence. Monitor and assess students’ progress, maintaining accurate records in line with organizational requirements. Requirements: Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent). Experience: At least 2 years of face-to-face teaching experience, ideally with adult learners or in a community-based setting. Skills: Strong subject knowledge in Functional Skills English and Maths, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit overseas learners. DBS: A valid DBS check on the Update Service is essential. Availability: Commitment to deliver 3.5 days per week for the 6-week duration of the course. Desirable Attributes: Experience working with overseas or ESOL learners. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
