Job Description Job Title Electrical Design Engineer Working Pattern : Full Time Working location: Bristol NB: First Stage telephone interviews will be held on the following dates: 10th-12th of March. If shortlisted for 2nd stage interview candidates must be available for a face to face on site interview at Rolls-Royce Bristol on the 17th of March. This Electrical Design Engineer role will be influential in the the design of Electronic Control Panels and Electrical Design for Marine Gas Turbines across different applications. You will be responsible and developing Control Panel design modifications as well as Electrical System design from an architectural concept to physical design against customer requirements as well as industry and certification standards for release on Naval applications. What you will be doing With this broad ranging role you will get a chance to: Lead the design, development and verification of the Gas Turbine Electrical System and Electronic Control Panel. Support with the design and development of other Electrical and Electronic units comprising the Gas Turbine ancillary systems, and integration with interfacing Ship systems. Integrate and manage electrical system and sub system requirements including their testability. Develop new processes, architectures, and ways of working to continuously improve on the cost and quality of our products. To be successful in this role you will need to: Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a STEM related subject. Proficient in electrical installation design and development. Knowledge in Controls and Instrumentation systems and architecture, integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf electronics. Experience with electrical cable standards and an awareness of wiring and cable (i.e. harness design) software tools. NX CAD, AutoCAD or similar experience. Technical problem-solving abilities. Curious, self-motivated, and confident to challenge when appropriate.
