We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Academic Learning Mentor, with a specific focus on supporting students in science. This role involves working closely with students to guide and inspire them to reach their full academic potential, while also providing personalised support and fostering a positive learning environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting students' personal and academic growth through effective mentoring, collaboration and strategic planning.
The main duties of this role is to provide tailored academic support and guidance to students, both in small group settings and one-on-one sessions, inside and outside the classroom. To inspire and motivate students to adopt positive behaviours and attitudes conducive to academic success and workplace readiness.
The right candidate will have the following key skills and competencies:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to make informed decisions in the best interests of students.
• Organisational and record-keeping skills to maintain accurate documentation.
• A proactive approach to professional development and safeguarding practices.
• Ability to nurture small groups of students and help them to make progress.

Grade 6 - Salary Range Pts 15-20 - £29,093 - £31,586 per annum, pro rata (actual salary range £16,868-£18,727)
Conditions: 25 hrs per week, term time only + inset (equivalent to 39 weeks)
