West Kent Therapies is looking to recruit a full time Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our established inpatientcommunity hospital team. This is a vibrant service and we can offer you a friendly and supportive post is based in Hawkhurst Community Hospital. The role will include some domiciliary visits in the local area. There will beopportunities for development across the Therapy team within the West Kent Locality, and there is work available at the other 2 sites(Tonbridge and Westview in Tenterden).Now is a good time to be joining our team, as we are working closely with our clinical partners on new developments to enhance ourexcellent patient-centred care within the community hospitals, with many Quality Improvement projects happening. Our teams havegreat opportunities for Continuing Professional Development through our internal training programme and external courses. The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants who work closely with nursing staff and see patients with a wide range of problems including musculoskeletal, neurological, orthopaedic and complex co-morbidities. Weprovide rehabilitation and moving and handling solutions for patients in their homes, and in the teams work closely with our GP partners, Rapid Response, Community Nurses, Complex Care Nurses, Integrated Care, Health & SocialCare Coordinators and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
You should be experienced, motivated and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You must be an HCPC registeredPhysiotherapist with post-graduate experience. You must be able to travel around the Trust in a timely manner, so a car is essential
Your role will be:
To assess, develop and implement evidence-based treatment programmes for these patients within their own homes, community hospitals and other community settingsTo be an autonomous practitioner with responsibility for own caseload working without direct supervisionTo work as a member of a multidisciplinary/multi-agency team providing a high-quality service to adults who have a wide range ofphysical, medical or developmental problemsTo provide support and information to patients, families and all agencies involved in the patients' careTo provide support, training and guidance to junior staffIf you are interested in part time hours or working at one of the other sites mentioned, then please do get in touchFor further details, any questions, or informal visits contactSarah J

1. Degree in Occupational Therapy

3. 2 years of clinical experience with adults with complex moving and handling needs
4. Experience working with physios, therapy assistants, nurses, and the wider MDT

5. Be able to assess for moving and handling equipment for complex moving and handling needs
6. Knowledge of specialist equipment and adaptations
7. Knowledge of advanced moving and handling techniques
