Job Description The Associate Accountant will contribute to all aspects of contract finance; ensuring all accounting activities are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner for the contract covering invoicing, month end close, budget/forecasting, internal reporting of monthly financials and completion of profit & loss / balance sheet reconciliations. Role: To ensure accurate accounting, reconciliation and processing of key data to enable the business to monitor performance, drive improvement, collect cash and ensure governance across a collection of key client contracts Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Focal point for Oracle expenses on the contract covering coding and approval Review of supplier invoices in Azolve prior to approval (Training, Accommodation) Review and analysis of costs coded to contract within the accounting system to ensure charges are correct and adjust as applicable Running various revenue, cost and structure reports in oracle accounting system Assistance with ensuring finance contract reconciliations are prepared, reconciled to accounts, analysed and reviewed on a monthly basis to establish over/under-recoveries and enable any corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner Responsible for maintaining contract delegation of authority matrix in line with any personnel changes on the contract Liaising with departments as required to undertake role: Commercial, Human Resources, Time Writing Central and Contract Managers Provide support with month end and forecasting processes as required Execution of various ad hoc tasks as and when requested Responsible for identifying and highlighting opportunities for continuous improvement within the contracts and sharing of best practice within the team and wider function Qualifications Knowledge & Experience: Relevant accounting experience Proficient user of Excel Competent at using ERP/ forecasting systems Job-Specific Skills: Good understanding of contract commercials to appreciate rate build-ups and recovery of costs to ensure maximisation of cash position Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to build good working relationships within teams Highly organised and ability to prioritise tasks Must be able to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy Attention to detail is critical Must be able to work as part of a team
