An exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Clinical Scientists to join the Rare Disease Service within the All Wales Medical Genomics Service working flexibly for 37.5 hours per week. These are permanent, full-time posts based at Canolfan Iechyd Genomig Cymru / Wales Genomic Health Centre.
The post holder will support the delivery of our rare disease services including expanded delivery of WES and WGS based services.
Experienced applicants without registration will be considered and appointed appropriately until qualifications are achieved.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of genetic services for a range of inherited disorders guided by clearly defined policies and procedures.
The post holder will have managerial responsibility for an additional component of the Genetics service (e.g. Quality, Training, the supervision/training of designated technical staff). The post holder will undertake service developments in conjunction with the head of the section.
The All Wales Medical Genetics Service (AWMGS) provides a comprehensive clinical genetics and laboratory service to the 3 million residents of Wales.
The Directorate encourages personal development and you will be expected to take an active part in the appraisal process. Not only is this a busy and challenging specialty but you would also be joining a friendly, dedicated team in Medical Genetics.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
