QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR
SANDIACRE, NOTTINGHAM
UP TO £39,270 DOE (INCLUDING SHIFT ALLOWANCE)
2 Shift Pattern:
Days: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 – 13:40 & Friday 06:00 – 13:00
Afters: Monday to Thursday, 13:35 – 21:15 & Friday 12:55 – 19:55
Progress Rail are looking to recruit a QA Inspector to ensure quality assurance plans are always followed. Must be able to conduct inspections, testing’s and supervise activities to guarantee products manufactured meets quality standards of company.
THE ROLE:
As a QA Inspector you will be required to:
* Ensure the correct grade of rail is used for each job as described on cutting sheets.
* Plan, Coordinate and perform routine inspection activities against daily/master production plan.
* Conduct 1st off, process and final inspection of machined and assembled products as per QWI. Create inspection and project reports against sales orders.
* In-house calibration of instruments/assets and liaise with UKAS lab for master assets calibrations.
* Report non-conformance, root cause investigation and implement corrective / preventive actions as per establish NC procedures.
* Assist in creation of layout inspection sheets from 1:50 drawing.
* Review production reports as part of Quality Doc Pack for electronic retentions.
* Perform Internal process Audits as per Master Audit Plan and support External / Customer Audits.
* Prepare final doc-pack and issue COC for products against sales order.
* Assist in product and process development activities (New product introduction).
* Assist in continual improvements by drafting, developing, improving and maintaining Quality work instructions/procedures.
* Assist in NDT sub-contractor activities on site and update records on server.
* Raise Purchase requisition for inspection and calibration related activities.
THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal QA Inspector:
* Minimum 3 years of experience as Quality Inspector or similar role in manufacturing environment (machining / fabrication and assembling).
* Manual inspection experience necessary with knowledge of measuring instruments.
* Knowledge of Quality tools desirable (SPC, 8D, RCA, CAPA etc.)
* Knowledge of instrument calibration essential
* Familiar with CNC machining and Fabrication processes.
* NPI Experience, Welding and Forging knowledge desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of FAIR and PPAP is desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of ERP system (Dynamic AX) and Q-pulse desirable but not essential.
* Knowledge of NDT techniques desirable but not essential.
