Senior Quality Engineer

My client, an industry leader in advanced solutions for a wide range of applications in a vast range of industries, are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing development, implementation and management of the QMS. Working cross-functionally to improve process efficiency, maintain industry certifications, and uphold quality standards.
Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, and NADCAP.
· Oversee the maintenance of Quality Manuals and Procedures, ensuring they remain relevant and effective for the business.
· Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, managing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and non-conformance processes.
· Ensure the quality system aligns with customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
· Lead external audits related to customers, regulatory bodies, and certification compliance.
· Support the introduction of new products and processes by managing Quality Systems responsibilities in collaboration with other departments.
· Review and update Quality procedures in line with plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
· Assist various business functions in maintaining and improving the quality management system.
· Oversee the use and optimization of the QMS within the Quality function.
· Develop and implement written procedures and organizational policies for the Quality function.
· Regularly report on Quality System KPIs and performance metrics.
· Contribute to the creation and execution of the annual improvement plan for the Quality function.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality department.
· Stay up to date with the latest advancements in quality management technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
· Build strong working relationships with the wider operational team.
· Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the business.
Person:
· Extensive Quality Engineering experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, ideally working to AS9100 Rev D standards.
· Proven ability to implement and maintain quality systems in sectors such as aerospace or automotive.
· Strong knowledge of quality methodologies including APQP, PPAP, PSW, FAIR, ISIR, SPC, and Control Plans, along with experience managing systems such as AS9100 Rev D, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex process challenges.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Desirable
· Trained management systems auditor – Lead Auditor preferred
· Experience with Project management tools
· Experience with Lean manufacturing methodologies
