Small School, Big Opportunities
‘Pupils enjoy coming to school. They said it is a friendly place.’ (Ofsted 2022).
Join us on the adventure in the heart of the English Lake District
As Governors, we believe in our school. It is well-loved and actively supported by our local community. Due to the retirement of the current Headteacher, we are looking to appoint an inspiring and dynamic leader who is innovative, open, and approachable. We wish to appoint someone who has the ability to adapt and differentiate to meet the needs of every pupil and member of staff in our small, caring, and nurturing learning environment.
Bassenthwaite Primary School and Little Ducklings Nursery is located in the beautiful village of Bassenthwaite in the Lake District National Park. The school provides our children with unique educational opportunities. Our Headteacher would be someone who will continue to promote high standards of learning and an innovative, creative curriculum, nurturing the whole child. Bassenthwaite School is proud of its extended provision and out-of-school activities and has strong links with the consortium of local primary schools.
We’d like to hear from you if you will:
* Enable all within the school to make a positive contribution in all aspects of their lives, in school, the community, and with colleagues in Keswick MAT;
* Be an approachable, collaborative, brave, and inspirational leader;
* Be fully committed to the benefits of outdoor education and residential visits;
* Inspire your colleagues in their own growth and development;
* Confidently manage our school and its unique curriculum.
We can offer you:
* A passion for the school to match yours;
* A life-enriching career opportunity;
* A dedicated, skilled, and highly experienced staff;
* A mutually supportive governor, trust, and staff team committed to the care and development of every child;
* A welcoming school with enthusiastic children who are keen to learn and are supported by their parents, carers, and local community;
* Support in your continued professional development.
Visits to the school will be available on:
