Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 (Women’s RWC 2025) will be the 10th edition of the women's tournament. World Rugby, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and UK Sport, have formed a Local Operating Company to plan and deliver the event.
Ambitions for the tournament are at an all-time high as women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in the world. Women’s RWC 2025 will be the ultimate stage for the best players, teams and coaches from 16 nations across the globe and is set to be the biggest and most widely watched women's rugby event ever. As the Marketing Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of the marketing strategy. You will be working closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including England Rugby, various representatives of eight Official Host Locations, and team members across World Rugby.
A key focus will be directly supporting the Senior Marketing Manager on the implementation of digital and physical marketing campaigns, as well as resourcefully developing & delivering upcoming event activations. This role will also support with the formation of marketing collateral and bespoke artwork through direct collaboration with the LOC’s Graphic Designer.
What you’ll be doing:
Marketing campaigns
• Assist in the development and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across CRM digital, earned media, editorial, OOH, social, and print.
• Work with the Ticketing team in support of the tournament ticket phases and major milestones to maximise ticket sales.
• Evaluate and report on the impact and performance of these campaigns, so we’re able to assess campaign effectiveness.
Stakeholder management
• Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including all eight (8) Official Host Locations, the RFU, and different departments within World Rugby.
• Ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed and engaged throughout the various tournament milestones and ticket sales phases.
• Work in collaboration with local partners to develop co-branded marketing initiatives that align with both the tournament’s goals and the partners’ objectives.
Event Activation
• Support the planning and execution of onsite activations in and around Official Host Locations in the lead up to the tournament, including community engagement activities, partner activations, and media events.
• Work closely with the local MarComms Working Groups to identify opportunities in the lead up to the tournament to reach new audiences.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure all necessary materials and services for event activations.
Design Process
• Contribute to the creative design process, providing input on visual elements, messaging, and overall brand consistency.
• Collaborate with the LOC’s Graphic Designer the wider MarComms team to ensure all marketing materials align with the tournament’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.
Experience & knowledge you’ll need:
• Proven experience in marketing,
• Familiarity with multi-channel marketing and platforms, including digital, email, social media, OOH, and content marketing.
• Experience with stakeholder management and event activation delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
• Creative mindset with an understanding of the design process and brand consistency.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• An understanding of diversity and inclusion, with a passion for promoting and supporting the tournament commitment to gender equity and identity representation.
• Strong interest in women’s sports.
Nice to Haves:
• Experience working in sports, entertainment, or event marketing.
• Graphic designs skills and/or interest in directly working on creation of assets.
• A working knowledge of the international rugby environment.
