Enhancing the efficiency of assets, ensuring a high level of availability and reducing maintenance costs.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The position consists of two main points, you shall act as a Lead Engineer for projects assigned to you, but you are also the Line Manager for the Mechanical Engineering teamAs Line Manager:You shall manage all delegates within your discipline, inclusive of utilisation, holidays, expenses, performance reviews and time writingYou will be a keen motivator, carrying out and managing development and training plans for all the staff employees in your disciplineYou will review, update and implement all the procedures, standards, guidance notes and forms for your respective disciplineYou shall be accountable for all recruitment and resourcing of your disciplineYou shall be accountable for all proposals and estimates for your disciplineYou shall be accountable for managing quality of Engineering and Design in respects to your discipline, for both single and multi-discipline projects.You are responsible for appointing capable discipline checker and approversYou shall support the Engineering Manager in growing the Engineering teams to support the projectsAs Lead Mechanical Engineer:Together with your team of engineers and designers you are responsible for the Mechanical Equipment, Piping and Design within multi-discipline engineering, EPCM or EPC projectsProject predominantly reside in the UK, but you will be expected to carry out projects for Europe and potentially wider areas of the Company business areasThese projects will range across the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning, in both green and brownfield applicationsThe projects will vary in complexity and size, delivered for all the major sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Food)You are responsible to manage and complete the Mechanical engineering and design within budget and planning. This includes change control and consistency of the Mechanical engineering and design with the other disciplinesYou shall be able to be client facing and manage the expectations of the client in relation to the project scopeYou will participate in internal and external design reviews and you are responsible for the design acceptance by the clientMake independent decisions on issues, providing expert technical support within Mechanical EngineeringYou shall be able to lead projects in a multi-discipline environment and be capable or coordinating all Mechanical engineering and design, with the other disciplines, Process, Civil and Structural, EC&I and AutomationYou shall be able to effectively carry out, check and approve Engineering and Design estimates, control and report all costs on allocated projects in terms of progress, scope change and man hoursQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Experience as a line manager for your respective disciplineExperience as Lead Engineer Mechanical, in multi-discipline projects, in an Engineering / EPCM / EPC company, in one of the above mentioned sectorsExperience in managing and implementing strict quality control and proceduresDeep knowledge of Mechanical engineering and design, but you also have a sound knowledge of the other disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, EC&I and Process)You shall be able to forecast and control resources to ensure projects are fully utilised and recruitment is plannedMEng / BEng in Mechanical / Piping EngineeringChartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred)Strong understanding of the main standards in relation your disciplineExperience with the application of piping design codes to ASME and BS EN standardsYou are able to develop piping systems complying with PED requirementsHave an appreciation with the main M&P design packages including, AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar IIExperienced with the production of mechanical specifications, scopes of work, calculations, drawings and schedulesResult oriented.
