About Corporate Technology: The Corporate Technology group is responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting Bloomberg's internal IT systems. This includes our global corporate network plus all hardware, software, and enterprise applications used by nearly 21,000 employees in more than 170 state of the art offices around the world. We focus on enterprise solutions, productivity tools, and IT systems integration, which helps move all of Bloomberg's business forward. What's in it for you: You will be part of an agile team of subject matter experts focusing on delivering secure and reliable internal system components to meet business goals. In the short term, improve server hardware and virtual machine deployment automation by implementing infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines. Looking forward, taking a key role in shifting toward consumption of internal cloud resources and redefining how internal customer's compute and storage needs are met within Bloomberg. Collaborating with technical, architecture and automation teams to deploy, enhance and maintain solution components. You'll be the regional subject matter expert providing technical guidance and mentoring for operations engineers and solving the most challenging technical problems we encounter. You'll need to have: Significant experience in server and storage engineering with hands on expertise of infrastructure as code Experience of on-prem server/storage technologies including:- Fibre channel SAN (PURE Storage) CIFS & NFS NAS (Netapp) Virtualization platforms and workloads (VMWare and virtual machines) Hands on Proficiency in IaC Tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet or similar platforms Very strong programming/scripting skills, preferably in python and/or powershell Awareness of private/hybrid/public clouds and "as a service" delivery models Experience with CI/CD Pipeline and DevOps principles Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience of creating technical documentation and technical mentoring Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards Degree level qualification in computer science or a closely related field or equivalent work experience We'd love to see: Some experience with managing and maintaining database hosting infrastructure Expertise with data protection and system backup and recovery to support business continuity Experience with Windows server operating systems and Active Directory A background/previous experience in system administration (configuration, security, networking, etc.)
