We’re now seeking an Assistant Executive Manager to join our busy team. The CFO Governance team is responsible for ensuring appropriate assurance and approvals around our commercial decisions take place within the Procurement & Commercial and Finance functions. You’ll support the CFO Governance Managers in developing and implementing a range of business controls, standards, and new initiatives in relation to governance and assurance processes for CFO, put in place by the CFO Senior Leadership Team and Chief Finance Officer, ensuring that these processes deliver the required outcomes, and support effective decision-making by TfL’s Senior Leadership Team. Key Accountabilities Your duties will include, but not be limited to: Providing support on governance matters for a respective office area, working with other Executive Office role holders to deliver activities in a timely and effective manner Responsible for supporting in the management and delivery of internal administrative processes within the directorate or office Responsible for the ownership and improvement of effective systems for effective handling of work, internally and across directorate areas, ensuring compliance with management system rules Responsible for coordinating engagement with business partners/specialist teams and commissioning of support services (including but not limited to SHE, HR, Legal, Finance, CCA (including press office and public affairs teams) Accountable for providing support to the office in facilitating engagement with internal and external stakeholders on matters impacting decision-making Accountable for supporting the office in preparing information for Business continuity planning Responsible for internal communications planning and delivery (in collaboration with Support Services) Accountable for the efficient co-ordination and maintaining of information, documents and records for the respective directorate or office including secretariat Accountable for supporting the wider directorate in the administration and engagement of internal SHE obligations for the area (including but not limited to: PGIs, Safety tours; Senior Management engagement; DSE Assessments; carbon literacy training) Accountable for supporting activities which contribute to the success of TfL’s internal governance processes, this includes secretariat, action follow up and collating information for submissions in accordance with Boards, Panels and Committees Skills, Knowledge & Experience Skills Good written and verbal communication skills (Essential) Flexible in providing support in varying activities across the office environment (Essential) Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across the organisation at all levels (Essential) Good influencing skills in the context of engaging with internal and external stakeholders of varying complexity (Essential) Knowledge Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Essential) Awareness of internal & external communication methods (Essential) Knowledge of how to support strategic business management and planning practices (Essential) Good knowledge of TfLs policies and processes (Highly desirable) Awareness of TfLs political relationships with key internal & external stakeholders (Highly desirable) Awareness of key contacts internal and external to the respective office/directorate (Desirable) Experience Experience of engaging with internal and external stakeholders (Essential) Experience of working within a large and complex organisation with political considerations (Essential) Experience of engaging in internal queries/correspondence (Essential) Application Process Please apply using your CV and a one-page covering letter Think carefully about the skills, knowledge and experience in the advert and cover this in your CV and cover letter PDF format preferred and do not include any photographs or images Equality, diversity and inclusion We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
