We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a category B Prison located in Fazakerley.
HMP Altcourse is a male prison that has a capacity for 1164 inmates that offers rehabilitation, education and resettlement services.

Hours: Night Shift - 7.45pm - 7.15am - 7-night shifts on duty, 7 days off.
Salary: This position is full time, you will receive an annual salary from £33,232 up to £40,211 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main Duties of the Job
As a Primary Care Nurse, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
* Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
* Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse-led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
* Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback.
* Deliver non-judgmental care that makes a real difference, as defined throughout our bespoke Health in Justice competency framework.
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement.
Qualifications Required
* Registered nurse (Adult)
* Current professional qualification (NMC)
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
* Knowledge of healthcare policies and best practice
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
