Woolpit Health Centre - we are looking to recruit a motivated and committed Salaried GP [5 sessions] to join our friendly, supportive team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, patient test results and reports and other paperwork and correspondence.
Job responsibilities
1. The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all patients.
2. Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, home visits, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
3. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
4. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
5. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
6. Developing care plans in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
7. Providing counselling and health education.
8. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
9. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
10. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary.
11. A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
12. Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
13. Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies.
14. The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
