As an employee with Churches Housing Association of Dudley and District (CHADD), you will provide the highest possible standard of support to women, children and male victims who are or who have experienced domestic abuse across all CHADD Refuge sites Work collaboratively with IDVA and colleagues to support individuals and reduce the risk of service users being affected by domestic abuse Work collaboratively across Refuge sites with Refuge staff where necessary Carry out risk assessments in accordance with domestic abuse best practice Assist individuals to set up and sustain their accommodation and prevent breakdowns by using counselling and support skills and assisting with welfare benefits, budgeting, health issues and independent living skills Liaise closely with CHADD projects and other agencies with regard to referrals to the service & work in conjunction with other Outreach colleagues in coordinating the service Assist in facilitating and delivering groupwork sessions with families and individuals affected by domestic abuse, both with internal service users and with those referred from external agencies Support the empowerment of service users and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation, and help them to regain control of their lives Where necessary attend court proceedings for emotional support and any other appointments according to the individuals support needs Ensure regular reviews of support plans are conducted including action planning to further progress, signpost, refer to or close a case; providing feedback to the service user and other agencies Ensure that any issues in relation to safeguarding children or vulnerable adults are bought to the immediate attention of the deputy manager or other available managers Work within CHADD policies and procedures ensuring that CHADD meets national and local standards Maintain accurate records associated with the service including referrals, attendance, waiting lists and provide statistical monitoring and reports as required Ensure that views and experiences of survivors and agencies are sought actively, recorded correctly and used to develop the service Report any issues, difficulties or complaints to the Team Leader and participate in the follow up investigations as required Maintain confidentiality and information sharing boundaries when working with service users, staff and external bodies Ensure that the security of sensitive information is kept within CHADDs policy and procedures according to the Data Protection Act Maintain the physical security of venues and the wellbeing of service users and their children Ensure that the Health & Safety Policy and any safe systems of work or control measures contained in risk assessments are strictly observed Ensure that all equipment provided at CHADD is working according to its purpose with regular testing and maintenance Report any hazards or defective equipment Administer emergency first aid and comply with CHADDs policy and procedures when completing documentation Take part in mandatory and performance led training Attend and contribute to staff meetings Attend supervision and clinical supervision according to CHADDs policy and procedures Promote and support equality and empowerment within all areas of work Represent and be an ambassador for CHADD working internally and externally with other agencies to ensure effective coordinated responses Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all CHADD staff Remain up to date and compliant with the ethos, all organisational procedures and policies, professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice Carry out such duties as may from time to time be required for the effective running of the Outreach Support Service, in consultation with the Outreach Team Leader and the Chief Executive Other Full UK driving licence and access to own transport is essential for this post This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check This vacancy is open to females only (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010, pursuant to schedule 9, Part 1) Commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice
