The Role
As a Welding Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will have the responsibility of ensuring the vehicles we produce and deliver meet the required standards.
Day-to-day, you’ll perform the role of subject matter expert for all welding related issues within the business area.
1. Assisting with the design and development of welding solutions
2. Provide routine overview activity to confirm weld activity is being carried out to standard
3. Day to day responsibility of all weld activity and associated training requirements
4. Review project specifications for welding processes and produce appropriate WPS
5. Periodically review the business’ welding practices
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at Walsall.
Experience Required of the Welding Engineer
6. Demonstrable experience in quality control, evaluation and improvement in a production environment
7. Knowledge of welding processes and standards
8. Understanding of metallurgy and process technology in the field of welding
9. Practical knowledge of quality management standards including ISO
Qualifications for the Welding Engineer
10. Degree level qualified in welding technology or similar discipline
