CATERING - KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Work within the Café, Caterpod and any other catering facilities, including food and beverage preparation.
2. Provide outstanding visitor care, including information, guidance, and assistance to all museum visitors.
3. Be responsible for opening and closing the areas of the museum as appropriate, always keeping an awareness of security and safety of personnel.
4. Work as a member of the wider museum team.
5. Observe High Life Highland’s policies and procedures.
6. Work on a rota basis including regular weekend and bank holiday working.
7. Ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in line with High Life Highland’s Health & Safety policies, including food safety.
CLEANING - KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. The cleaning of all toilets and daily replenishment of toilet disposables.
2. Ensure the museum environment is cared for – buildings, objects, and areas are kept clean and tidy.
3. The cleaning of historic buildings on a rota schedule.
4. The cleaning of visitor areas including picnic benches.
5. Work as a member of the wider museum team.
6. Be responsible for opening and closing the areas of the museum as appropriate, always keeping an awareness of security and safety of personnel.
7. Care and cleanliness of all equipment used in carrying out the above duties.
8. Work outdoors in all seasons.
9. Work on a rota basis, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.
10. Ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in line with High Life Highland’s Health & Safety policies.
11. Observe High Life Highland’s policies and procedures.
CROFT & STOCKWORKER - KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Welcome visitors to the 1930s Croft and interpret the history of the site.
2. Be responsible for the care of a variety of livestock and crops and assist in the day to day running of the working croft.
3. Work as a member of the wider museum team.
4. Be responsible for the cleaning of the buildings, objects and the surrounding areas.
5. Be responsible for opening and closing the areas of the museum as appropriate.
6. Work outdoors in all seasons.
7. Work on a rota basis, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.
8. Ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in line with High Life Highland’s Health & Safety policies.
9. Observe High Life Highland’s policies and procedures.
GENERAL SITE - KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Be responsible for the opening, closing, and checking of the museum site and historic buildings, always keeping an awareness of security and safety of personnel.
2. Assist with car and coach parking and with the meeting and greeting of visitors.
3. Welcome coach groups, including orientation of the Museum and selling guidebooks.
4. Provide lunch cover to the Croft team as required.
5. Ensure the museum buildings are kept clean and tidy, assist in emptying bins / recycling points across the Museum.
6. Assist in the day-to-day operation of the Museum, by providing outstanding customer care in all areas.
7. Work as a member of the wider museum team.
8. Assist with the maintenance and groundwork as required.
9. Work on a rota basis within the role, including regular weekend & bank holiday working.
10. Ensure that all activities are carried out safely and in line with High Life Highland’s Health & Safety policies.
11. Observe High Life Highland’s policies and procedures.
HISTORICAL INTERPRETATION - KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Welcome visitors to the 1700s Township and 1930s School and interpret the history of each area through a variety of mediums including first and third person interpretation to a range of audiences, including groups and families.
2. Wear appropriate historical costume for the period being interpreted.
3. Be responsible for the cleaning of the buildings, objects, and the surrounding areas.
4. Work as a member of the wider museum team.
5. Be responsible for opening and closing the areas of the museum as appropriate, always keeping an awareness of security and safety of personnel.
6. Work on a rota basis, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.

RETAIL & RECEPTION - KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Provide excellent welcome and customer care to all visitors with an enthusiastic attitude.
2. Actively encourage visitors to make donations, complete gift aid forms and to sell guidebooks.
3. Work on a rota basis within the reception, shop, sweetie shop and cleaning roles, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.
4. Be responsible for opening and closing the areas of the museum as appropriate, always keeping an awareness of security and safety of personnel. Keep all areas clean.
5. Ensure all banking and cash handling requirements are met accurately and adhere to security and cash handling procedures.
6. Comply with all statutory legislation with regards to Health & Safety & Liquor Licensing.
7. Encourage secondary spend in retail shops.
8. Process deliveries for shop/s; monitor stock levels and merchandising, observing stock expiration dates and good stock rotation practices.
9. Interpret the 1930s in costume in the Sweetie Shop.
10. Work as a member of the wider museum team.
