About the Role
We currently have an exciting vacancy within the Housing Options Team based in Sale.
In the role of a Private Rented Sector Lead Officer, you will be responsible for securing emergency Temporary Accommodation via the Private Rented Sector, and ensuring all properties are used within the legislative duty.
You will support the delivery of new initiatives in the private rented sector, aimed at supporting customers to move on from emergency accommodation and ultimately reducing the demands on temporary accommodation.
Responsibilities also include delivering the Rental Bond Scheme, with a key focus on private sector engagement to maximise housing supply through various means, including bringing long-term empty homes back into use achievable through partnership working.
You will provide a highly visible service, engaging with vulnerable customers on a day-to-day basis to gain a deep understanding of their needs/priorities, and developing outcome-focused action plans that meet their aspirations.
You will also support with Sign-ups, property inspections and monitoring of rent accounts and contribute towards the efficient and effective management of the Emergency and Temporary accommodation by liaising with the Temporary Accommodation Team and HOST Officers.
Dealing with enquiries that assist residents and landlords and arrange furniture packages and deliveries to the properties within the HOST portfolio will also be part of the role
About you
We are looking for someone who is Self-motivated and organised with experience in a similar role who has delivered high customer service standards and understands the different needs of different customers. You should have proven experience of working in a housing, tenancy management or neighbourhood management role alongside experience of letting properties, void management and the allocations processes through choice-based lettings.
You should have experience of working within a multi-functional team and communicating with partners and key stakeholders with a proven track record of delivering an excellent range of services to a diverse community. You must understand the requirements of the General Data Protection legislation and principles, with a knowledge of safeguarding and safeguarding responsibilities and experience of guiding or advising on standard procedures and processes.
You must be proficient in the use of IT software packages, including databases and the use of spreadsheets, inputting and calculating with accuracy and be able to communicate effectively with clients either verbally or in writing and to establish excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
We ae looking for someone with the ability to work independently under pressure and to plan and prioritise own workload to meet own and team deadlines and changes in priority, with the ability to draft standard and non-standard documentation using corporate templates, reports and spreadsheets, accurately, efficiently and with minimal supervision.
You must be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative, including an ability to respond independently to unexpected problems and situations.
