As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students facing behavioural challenges, providing the support and guidance they need to navigate their personal and academic difficulties. Your role will involve developing positive relationships, implementing tailored strategies, and encouraging students to make better choices that lead to improved behaviour and academic success. Behaviour Mentor Roles and Responsibilities: · Assist students in managing their behaviour and making positive choices. · Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment. · Work one-on-one or small groups with students to address specific behavioural challenges. · Participate in meetings and contribute to developing strategies to support student well-being and achievement. · Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and other staff to create and implement individual behaviour plans. · Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to relevant staff. Essential Requirements for a Behaviour Mentor: · Prior experience as a Behaviour Mentor or working with young people. · Relevant qualifications or training in education, youth work, or counselling is an advantage. · Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. · Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies. · A compassionate approach to understanding and addressing the diverse needs of learners requires patience, empathy, and an empathetic approach. · A valid DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one.
