Who we are
At Jones and Palmer, we’re a consultancy-led creative agency that helps listed companies uncover and communicate their unique corporate story. We start by listening — researching and consulting with clients to find their unique voice and value proposition. Then, we help shape their story and translate it into compelling content across digital and print channels, such as websites, social media content and annual reports. Our work is powered by strategic thinking, creativity, and considered design.
We are on a mission to create a better future by influencing choices and decisions through stories that touch hearts and minds. We believe that the way we tell our story internally is just as important. That’s where you come in. We’re a close-knit team of curious, courageous, empowering and connected individuals who care deeply about the experience of our colleagues. Our culture supports people to grow, challenge ideas, and work together to create something meaningful — for our clients and for each other.
About the role
This is a hands-on, wide-reaching role for someone who enjoys balancing employee experience with HR compliance. You’ll work closely with our Director of Culture and HR to deliver initiatives that support our people and uphold our responsibilities as an employer.
You'll play a key role in embedding our refreshed brand, culture and values into the everyday — helping ensure that behaviours, communication and people processes reflect the spirit of the agency.
If you’ve worked in a creative or agency environment before, you’ll understand the pace and the importance of getting the people stuff right. And if you care about making an impact while building meaningful relationships, you’ll feel right at home here.
In this role, you’ll be...
* Supporting a smooth and engaging onboarding experience — from paperwork to coordinating welcome sessions.
* Keeping our HR documentation and systems (like SageHR) up to date and compliant.
* Helping review and update HR policies in line with current legislation and agency needs.
* Being a first point of contact for employee queries, wellbeing support and HR advice.
* Helping shape and deliver internal comms, performance reviews and 121s.
* Collating and responding to employee feedback — from surveys to probation reviews.
* Supporting development pathways, learning initiatives and mentoring opportunities.
* Curating learning content and training experiences for employees and managers.
* Championing our values — encouraging alignment in day-to-day behaviours and communication.
* Supporting inclusion, belonging and wellbeing initiatives across the business.
* Advising on employment law updates and supporting practical implementation.
* Helping managers with recruitment admin, interviews and offer paperwork as needed.
You’ll fit right in if you...
* Have at least 3 years experience in generalist HR and people experience, ideally in an agency or small business environment.
* Are CIPD L5 qualified, or have an equivalent degree in HR or other relevant legal background.
* Know your way around HR systems, employee relations, and compliance essentials.
* Are curious and proactive — always looking to understand and improve things.
* Communicate clearly and confidently, with empathy and professionalism.
* Value structure and systems, but love applying them with a human-first mindset.
* Are energised by working in a culture-led, values-driven organisation and being a role model for our values and behaviours.
* Believe in the power of people to grow, challenge, connect and empower each other, and have a personal desire to grow and learn.
