Head Office/ Various Sites in Northwest/West & Midlands Regions
ROLE:
As an MEP Coordinator with Kilcawley Construction, you will report directly to a Contracts Manager and assist Project Managers on projects to effectively procure, manage, and handover mechanical and electrical subcontractor scope as part of a larger building project. The role involves actively participating in the safe, timely execution of the works in accordance with the project budgetary, programme, and quality requirements.
General
* Support the Contracts Manager and Project Managers in delivering mechanical and electrical aspects on large building projects with values from €3m to €20m.
* First point of contact for M&E subcontractors and Design Team on queries.
* Chair and produce minutes for fortnightly MEP Coordination meetings with M&E contractors and design team to discuss programme, progress, and design matters.
* Sense check M&E RFIs and submittals, maintaining updated logs.
* Maintain oversight of commissioning progress/programme, particularly for safety-critical systems required for Practical Completion.
* Snagging of M&E installations and recording on iPad App.
* BIM coordination of M&E services within the building across M&E contractors and CSA packages; production of M&E installation drawings as required.
* Producing builders works (BwIC) drawings for service openings through walls and floors as required.
* Ensure all MEP Inspection reports are addressed and closed as works progress, ensuring compliance for BCAR.
* Communicate with MEP specialists and consultants to ensure all BCAR & O&M/Safety file document requirements are issued timely before handover.
Health and Safety
* Ensure safety-critical mechanical and electrical installations are fully functional prior to handing over a building to a Client.
* Deliver works in the safest manner possible, with support from the Site Manager, H&S Advisor, and Contracts Manager, in accordance with all legislative requirements.
* Assist M&E contractors on site to execute works per their approved method statement and risk assessment.
* Report all safety incidents and/or accidents to the Safety Advisor and Company Directors in strict accordance with company protocols.
* Help achieve our goal of Zero Harm on all worksites for all workers and third parties.
Technical/Quality
* Full responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects from both a time scale and commercial perspective.
* Ensure project delivery is on time and snag-free to Client satisfaction.
* Good technical understanding of:
– HVAC systems
– Lighting and Emergency Systems
– LTHW systems including gas installation requirements and BMS interfaces
– Electrical distribution and sub-distribution requirements
– Access and maintenance requirements
– Commissioning of integrated building systems
* Coordinate with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, and Services Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate information for subcontractors and site personnel.
* Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and problems arising from revised details or site situations.
* Ensure all materials and work performed meet specification and drawing requirements.
* Ensure subcontractors execute their works per their approved Inspection and Testing Plans and sign off inspection records as required.
Management
* Act as first point of contact for day-to-day M&E subcontractor and Design Team queries and issues.
* Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce to ensure timely completion.
* Familiarity with contract documents supplied by the Client/architect.
* Monitor progress against the Contract Programme and escalate any delays to the Site Manager to mitigate.
* Assist in the production and revision of the contract and sub-programmes with the Contracts Manager and Planner.
* Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times while protecting the business's position.
What You Need
* Relevant Third level qualification (Engineering – Mechanical / Electrical).
* Previous Main Contractor experience is desirable.
* Flexibility to travel to various project sites.
* Clean Driving license.
