YOS officer required to work an ongoing contract based in Essex.
Hybrid work available; however, 2 days must be on site.
About the role:
1. To ensure the Council provides a first-class professional service within the Youth Justice Service (YJS) by working for a needs-led service to children, young people, and their families in order to prevent offending and re-offending. This includes regularly writing assessments and written reports of young people and their families for Court, panels, and professionals' meetings.
2. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to engage young people and their families whilst they are on a Court Order. Ensure adherence to YJB policies and practices including performance indicators and National Standards, ensuring timeliness of assessment and reviews. Ensure adherence to corporate and departmental policies and practices including providing all data as and when required.
3. To manage highly complex cases that pose significant risk to others in the community. This could include young people involved in harmful sexual behaviour, gangs, or County Lines (serious youth violence).
