Our client is an established main contractor working across Europe specialising in the delivery of construction and engineering projects on behalf of global blue-chip clients. They offer a full turnkey service for their clients from design, construction, and handover across the full range of CSA (civil, structural, architectural), MEP (mechanical and electrical) and commissioning works.
Due to continued growth, the need now exists for a Mechanical Lead for their data centre projects. As Mechanical Lead you will oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems bringing expertise in HVAC, piping, and building services, with a strong focus on high-performance design, energy efficiency, and quality standards .
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
Lead the design, development, and review of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and utility services.
Perform technical reviews and calculations, ensuring all design elements are accurate and align with project specifications and industry standards.
Collaborate with contract managers, project managers, and other engineering leads to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly within project scopes.
Oversee quality assurance and control for mechanical designs, from concept through construction, commissioning, and client handover.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, health and safety, and industry best practices.
Participate in project planning and resource management to achieve project milestones efficiently.
Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and results.
Act as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, communicating technical information and project progress effectively.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Significant experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on Data Centre projects.
Strong knowledge of procurement, scheduling, programming, and sequencing.
Strong proficiency in mechanical design software and tools.
Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
