Job Description Castle Education are seeking a passionate and experienced Design & Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in York. As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons to secondary school students. This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong background in Design & Technology education and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and skills with young learners. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Design & Technology that are aligned with the national curriculum and tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners. Teach a range of Design & Technology subjects, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Textiles, incorporating both theoretical concepts and practical skills. Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their creativity, develop problem-solving skills, and pursue their interests in design and technology. Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies to support their academic and personal development. Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the overall success of the department and the school community, participating in staff meetings, professional development activities, and extracurricular events as required. Qualifications: Previous experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level, with a proven track record of delivering engaging and effective lessons. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
