Applicants will be required to assist in the delivery of a high quality education and care service to pre 5 children and their families and to work as part of the management team to assist in the effective management of the nursery.
The main duties of the post will include planning and implementation of an appropriate curriculum for children aged 3-5 years, assessment recording and reporting on children’s progress; supporting staff in curriculum planning, assessment and observation practices, monitoring the development and implementation of IEPs, developing parental participation, promoting work with other agencies and contributing to the management of the service.
You must hold a Relevant practice qualification in early learning and childcare: HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7) or equivalent.
Have Experience of working in an early learning and childcare setting, planning and delivering a relevant and inclusive curriculum and assessment and documentation of children’s learning in line with national and local guidance.
Knowledge of current local and national curriculum guidance relevant to early learning and childcare, including GIRFEC, Child Protection and Inclusion, Knowledge of child development and planning and assessment processes to support children’s learning and development and awareness of health and safety requirements and an ability to undertake risk assessments are essential.
