Overview of project/role
A key member of the Engineering Vehicle (EV) Logistics team, providing high quality Worksite delivery, ensuring the standard of work meets that specified in the plan. Job holder is expected to effectively organise and manage Loading, Train, Crane, and Site activities to ensure production and safety targets are achieved in an efficient, cost effective and safe manner.
Plan and co-ordinate worksites in collaboration with key support partners and Logistics & Warehousing departments to ensure effective delivery of customer requirements.
Key Accountabilities
* Leading the efficient deployment of Loading, Crane, and ETO resources to deliver crucial requirements for a vastly diverse customer base across the TfL Network.
* Manage the deployment, performance, and attendance of staff on site and report to the EV Logistics Manager as necessary. Lead and motivate operational teams on shift to maximise the performance of staff on site.
* Accountable for the response to incidents in the absence of higher authority, in respect of Trains, Cranes and Loading to ensure the safety of customers, contractors and staff at all times. Liaise as necessary with internal or external emergency services.
* Carry out periodic security and safety checks with Train, Crane and Loading Crew on site in order to minimise unauthorised access and damage to or defacement of Transplant / LUL assets or injury to customers, contractors or staff.
* Identify by analysis of customer requirements, timetables, duty schedules and predicted staff availability, sources of potential service problems and where necessary in liaison with other managers reschedule the services or use of staff and EV Assets on site.
* Responsible for the effective rostering of operational teams in accordance with EV Logistics' work bank & customer requirements. Expectation to consult with Trade Union colleagues to ensure efficiency of resources and safety of staff.
* Ensure Loading & Crane staff have the necessary licences and competencies to undertake duties by continual review and appraisal. In liaison with EV Logistics Manager, arrange and resource for staff on the job training in the safe use of Crane, Loading and Train equipment and the operation of assets to support the achievement of the highest standards of customer service and safety.
* Prepare reports (Incident Report Forms) on relevant work-site delays/cancellations at site to capture financial impacts & mitigate reputational risk. Also produce local investigations reports & submit to EV Logistics Manager for review/escalation.

* A high level of computer literacy. (Essential)
* Good written and oral communication skills, with proven leadership qualities and the ability to organise and control the work of others. (Essential)
* Ability to follow process instructions i.e. Train Preparation. (Essential)
* Ability to use telephone and intercom systems and compile reports. (Essential)
Knowledge
* Knowledge and experience of general service quality factors, safety rules and regulations, operating procedures, and equipment associated with tamping machinery. (Essential)
* Knowledge of train staff working practices, agreements, and rules of deployment. (Essential)
* Working knowledge of relevant health & safety and other legislation and regulations (Desirable)
* Knowledge of Railway Infrastructures. (Essential)
* Knowledge of EV Logistics machine systems. (Essential)
* Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations associated procedures and standards. (Essential)
* Job holder must hold specific track qualifications and safety critical licenses. (Essential)
* Good knowledge of train equipment and vehicle mounted plant. (Desirable)
* Holds safety critical licenses and Track qualifications. (Essential)
Experience
* Experience of operating in a complex rail environment. (Essential)
* Experienced in working with Trade Unions. (Essential)
* Railway Operational and site experience including track geometry. (Desirable)
* Planning and scheduling experience. (Essential)
