Job summary
Would you like to be part of a new, exciting and innovative service working with young people with an ethos of prevention and early intervention?
In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the new Mental Health Support Teams (named by children and young people in the region as Wellbeing in Mind teams) are an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced clinician to join our Hambleton & Richmond Wellbeing in Mind Team as a band 6 Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner. The successful candidate will join an established, supportive team.
Applicants must be qualified as an EMHP and completed, or currently be undertaking the CWP/EMHP supervisor (PG Certificate or CPD) or Senior Wellbeing Practitioner G/PG Diploma training programme, provided by one of the nationally commissioned training providers.
Main duties of the job
* Support the development of a whole-school or college approach to wellbeing, including developing and implementing mental health and wellbeing policies, resources, campaigns, and training.
* Provide timely advice and consultation to education staff to enhance their skills and confidence in supporting the wellbeing needs of their students.
* Undertake direct assessments and interventions for young people within education, predominantly using cognitive-behavioural therapy.
Each function accounts for a third of the team's workload.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants can travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
