Working closely within the management accounts team to produce the monthly management accounts & support business division directors in decision making.,
* Production of the monthly management accounts & financial reporting packs with variance analysis and commentaries
* Monthly journals & balance sheet reconciliations with detailed support in the preparation of group accounts & analysis
* Review and coding of financial transactions for capital expenditure and intercompany processing
* Assist in annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting
* Liaise with, & provide support to, the relevant business division in project appraisal, evaluation and post-implementation analysis
* Support with regular maintenance of management accounting processes and the implementation of authorised changes
* Regular review of relevant business division processes & data capture methods and propose improvements to improve financial reporting and analysis
* Complete ad hoc information requests from the finance department or other departments in the company to a high standard
* Be proactive in obtaining information to become a subject matter expert for the relevant businesses division
* Provide support at year end by assisting with the audit process including gathering information and explaining processes.
* Assist other finance departments in general queries regarding GL coding, systems, division specific queries etc.
Ability to produce an accurate set of accounts with proven technical ability.
* ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification with a minimum 2 years' experience in an accounts production role within a commercial environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with strong commercial acumen and the ability to communicate at all levels with both financial and non-financial management
* Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
* Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and confidence & competence to deliver against strict deadlines
* Ability to work under instruction whilst using own initiative where necessary
* Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast paced, pressurised environment
* Effective communicator, influencer & relationship builder, with the ability to highlight any concerns or issues with Senior Management.
* Ability to prioritise work and manage own diary - amidst challenging demands on time
* Knowledge of working in the construction industry (Desirable)
* Experience of working with group companies (Desirable)
* Microsoft Dynamics & COINS software knowledge (Desirable)
