This is an exciting permanent opportunity for a claims professional to join our Property & Casualty Claims Department, working within the Casualty team. The team uses their expertise to seamlessly handle even the most complex claims. This role will suit someone who is interested in the field of Casualty claims, with the ability to adapt to changing workloads and someone who can communicate at all levels.
You will be based in our Ipswich office; however, AXA XL has implemented a Smart Working initiative offering a hybrid way of working, combining both remote and office working. You may occasionally need to travel and attend our London office, and your reporting line may be the London-based Assistant Claims Manager for the continued integration of our London and Ipswich-based Claims teams.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Managing a portfolio of claims up to a pre-determined authority level, with proactive engagement with all stakeholders to resolve claims promptly and fairly.
2. Liaison with brokers and/or clients to investigate liability and discuss claims protocols, activity, trends, and defensibility.
3. Ensuring all claims are reserved within company guidelines.
4. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Underwriters, Actuaries, and other internal departments.
5. Providing guidance to Third-Party Administrators and Legal Partners for claims outside of Delegated Authority arrangements.
6. Effective diary management of all claims through a diary system.
7. Conducting regular meetings with delegated claims partners for portfolio performance oversight.
8. Attending audit performance discussions with key partners.
9. Working with Offshore / Shared Services to enhance service delivery.
10. Preparing and presenting large claim activity to the Management / Leadership team.
11. Assisting Underwriters with renewal proposals.
12. Liaising with Brokers / Co-insurers / other Defendants as required.
13. Managing all litigated cases effectively.
14. Engaging in project groups to facilitate business improvement.
15. Managing static and inactive claims as required.
16. Analyzing data sets as part of performance management.
You will report to the Assistant Claims Manager/Claims Manager.
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
1. An interest in handling Casualty claims.
2. Knowledge of the MOJ Claims Portal is preferable, but not essential.
3. Confident and effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
4. Happy to work on team activities or individually.
5. Competent in all Microsoft suite products.
6. Ability to find innovative solutions.
7. A high level of numeracy and attention to detail.
8. Willingness to show pragmatism when required.
9. Preparedness to seek guidance when uncertain.
10. A true commitment to achieving excellence.
11. Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
12. Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience as a minimum.
