Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the operations of our children's care facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for providing high-quality care to young persons.
This role requires a proactive approach to managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of care for our young persons. As Registered Manager, you will ensure that good quality care is delivered to the children and young people in the home.
You will hold the registration and have overall responsibility for the home. You will have responsibility for recruitment, training, supervision, placements, care plans, audits, budgets, and working with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities :
Supporting the Needs of Children and Young People
* Promote and ensure the delivery of a safe and Ofsted compliant home that is underpinned by a structured and nurturing environment.
* Actively safeguard and promote the welfare of the young people within your care.
* Contribute to the development of appropriate relationships with and between staff, young people, families, and other stakeholders including education, health, and therapy.
* Ensure there is a multi-disciplinary approach to providing positive outcomes for young people and lead/chair meetings pertaining to their care.
* Promote appropriate relationships between staff, young people, and their families, encouraging involvement and participation in the day-to-day life of the Home.
* Respond immediately to any unsafe practices and conditions.
Management and Leadership:
* Ensure staff are aware of the individual needs of all young people and skilled to deliver the support required for positive holistic development.
* Develop and communicate a variety of intervention strategies that support behaviour management and the promotion of pro-social behaviour.
* Ensure the home is financially viable and managed within its allocated budgets.
* Produce and implement a development plan for the service that ensures the delivery of high quality, clinically informed practice.
* Provide staff with sufficient information to understand their roles and implement monitoring systems to ensure high performance.
* Promote and encourage the professional development of staff, providing supervision and regular performance appraisals as per company policy.
* Manage and supervise all staff members, delegating supervision responsibilities to appropriately skilled and experienced Seniors RSW’s or Deputy Managers.
* Collaborate with Human Resources to manage all employee relations within the home, following current employment legislation and company policies.
* Oversee, supervise, appraise, and develop staff skills in their working practice.
* Work in partnership and develop professional relationships with colleagues, other agencies, and professionals to meet the needs of young people and their families.
* Provide leadership and direction to all employees.
* Take disciplinary action when necessary.
* Motivate employees and ensure a focus on objectives in line with the home’s statement of purpose and care plans.
* Be self-motivated and possess a desire for self-development.
Regulatory and Administrative:
* Ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities in relation to adherence to policies in the home, company, and Children's Legislation and Regulations.
* Be involved in the recruitment of staff, including vetting, interviewing, and inducting new employees.
* Maintain a robust process of internal monitoring and critical reflection to comply with regulations and develop the service and the Company.
* Ensure the home promotes and recognizes the diversity of cultures and beliefs within the local and wider community, promoting anti-discriminatory practice.
* Manage and monitor labour costs, staffing structures, and rotas to meet the children's needs and comply with allocated budgets.
* Complete the administration of financial, payroll, and staffing matters within prescribed time scales.
* Work within the code of confidentiality and ensure compliance with GDPR 2018 regulations regarding record-keeping.
* Participate in any required training relevant to staff working in children services, particularly in residential care and management roles.
* Cooperate with the Company to comply with Health and Safety requirements, following policies and conducting relevant risk assessments.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment; ensure the physical state of the building is maintained to a high standard and that repair/maintenance issues are addressed promptly.
Other Requirements:
* Level 3 NVQ Health & Social Care.
* Level 5 NVQ Leadership & Management.
* Previous experience registering a new home is essential.
* Provide out-of-hours support to the service.
* Continuously develop in the role; tasks and responsibilities can be unpredictable and varied.
* Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility as needed.

DBS Obligations:
* All candidates for social care positions must disclose all offences, even if 'spent', as these roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
* Staff must notify of changes in personal circumstances while employed by the company.
